The official Fat Loss 4 Idiots website contains the following warning: “If you notice that you are losing too much weight too quickly then you should stop dieting for a few days - if you begin to lose more than 1 pound every day, you should slow down a bit.

For that reason I would suggest that you do not look at it as a long term solution. However, many people do, and have lost incredible amounts of weight, in relatively short amounts of time.

If you do decide that this program is for you, here is what I think: Educate yourself, and aim to eat a healthy, balanced diet over the long term. The Fat Loss 4 Idiots Diet will get you going with a bang, that’s for sure - the theory upon which it is designed is what usually turns out to be the solution for people who have hit a weight loss plateau - by varying the amounts and types of calories that they are used to eat, by ‘confusing’ the metabolism, and then also by making changes in their exercise regimes.

It is called the “Idiot Proof Diet” because everything is computed for you, via a real handy online diet generator, and from a list of your chosen fat burning foods, and there is no need for calorie counting or label reading.

Your metabolism doesn’t know how much food you’ll eat tomorrow or the next day because those days have not happened yet.

Therefore, your metabolism always burns calories based on your eating habits during the past few days - because it assumes that you’ll continue to eat in the same general way.

Guess what? You’re about to shock your metabolism by doing something you’ve never tried before - you’re going to do the OPPOSITE of what it expects you to do. You’re going to NOT continue eating the same types of calories and meals for more than a couple days at a time, and you’re going to lose a lot of weight by doing this.

To make this work you need to SHIFT the types of calories eaten as shown in the Fat Loss 4 Idiots System, and if you do this then your metabolism will burn all of the calories eaten. Then, when it finishes burning those calories it will find the nearest available fat tissue on your body and burn that too…

The day is divided into 4 meals that should be eaten at a minimum of 2 1/2 hours apart. There is no limit on portion size - The program says you “just eat short of being full”. After the 11 day meal plan there is the 3 day “cheat” - where you get to eat whatever you want. Then you are back into the 11 day plan again.

Every time you eat something there are 2 types of hormones released into your bloodstream, and together they control Fat Burning and Fat Storage. The Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet manipulates these hormones, so after each meal your body will produce a greater quantity of Fat Burning Hormones - while Fat Storing Hormones are minimized as much as humanly possible.

The food is made up of lean proteins, fruit and vegetables, and the sources of fat come from whole foods (such as cottage cheese or eggs). There are some starchy carbohydrates (such as oats and pasta).

Be careful during the 3 day rest period, as I found in many a Fat Loss 4 Idiots Review, many people are offered a finger and then grab the whole hand, and gain back more weight than they have lost during the 11 days.

The diet does suggest walking as exercise, and here a word of advice: DO consider regular exercise as an important element of ANY program.

    Problem with this diet as you highlighted is I do not think it is designed for long term use. I am more into plans that you can stick to long term so that the weight loss is sustained
    Fat loss for idiots is like a ‘crash diet’ ie want to shed the pounds piled on at thanksgiving or trying to fit into a wedding dress senario
